There are two different kinds of people in the world. Those who try and those who don’t. For example, if I were to tell you to look up a picture of sweet potatoes and the first picture that popped up was this:

Would you take it? Or put a little effort into it and go for gold:

For starters, which one looks more appetizing? I was so annoyed by people's lack of initiative around the office place. Another example: a bathroom light was out and it made 2 stalls practically pitch black. So after about 2 days of me expecting someone ELSE to turn it into maintenance, I finally ask Lisa if I should call them. She said "yeah, I just figured their receptionist would notice..."yeah you'd think!!! When I make the call I was the first person to say anything. After 3 days of peeing in the dark! (Haha me and the bathroom!!!)

Culinary Corner:
I tried doing a cleanse this week so I tried to eat raw 80% of the time. My one (cooked) grain was quinoa and I ate it almost EVERY lunch. Since I was so good with fresh salads from the cafeteria, I let myself partake in the Thursday Thanksgiving luncheon. Just sides: stuffing, potatoes, green bean casserole. The usuals. Friday Lisa treated me to Genghi's Grill since it was pay day...this was our first meal together. I wore my nametag to try and get a mall discount and ended up getting more attention than I was looking for, INCLUDING the manager sitting down at our table for like 10 minutes trying to haggle customers out of us. BUT I got my discount. YEAAAH.

Among other important duties this week I shred about 4 bags full of paper. I always think of that scene from Dick when Kerstin Dunst walks into an office of people shredding files during the Watergate scandal. Haha, so random. Everytime I emptied the shredder out I spilled paper everywhere...but the last one was a doozy. And you guessed it ladies and gentlemen, we got it on camera! (Reenactment of course)

I felt so bad and the cleaning lady (which is teaching me Spanish) walked in right as I dumped the shredded paper all over the carpet! HOW RUDE! I had pieces of shredded paper stuck to my boots all day.

It was a very stressful and lonnnng 5 day (whoohoo) work week with lots of stories that I'll save until next time, INCLUDING a picture blog following me around to all of my many workstations at the assignment, using my favorite office gadgets. I would like to also promote a feature on another temp, Elysa Hellerman. She has her own blog wrapped around her seasonal job at Lush. Check it out: elysamary

And now the part you have all been waiting for...
